La Ermita: Magical Town Award

Our lovely community , La Ermita de Santa Isabel has been recognized by the Yucatan Tourism Secretary Michelle Friedman Hirsch as one of 8 "Magico Barrio" neighbourhoods of Merida. La Ermita offers all the traditional elements of a Mexican Community. Colourfully painted houses stand along cobblestone streets often filled with youth in school uniforms or cyclists riding to the bakery or local park. La Ermita offers a real insight to the daily lifestyle of the Mexican community. Safe, family fun events with ice-cream and coffee baristas, family run chicken and pizza open in the late afternoon for all to enjoy. The near by park host league baseball & soccer games, pick up basketball games, and often local entertainment events.
